Prioritizing Mental Health & Self Care - Salt Lake Community College Dream Center

Presented by Norma Ramirez, M.A. and Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology. Norma will provide tips and recommendations for self-care while undocumented in the current socio-political climate and the COVID-19 pandemic. She will provide research findings around how an anti-immigrant climate affects immigrants’ health. This will be a safe and brave space to have real conversations about self-care and how to begin healing. At the end, Sharet Garcia, the founder of UndocuProfessionals will share additional resources.

The University of San Francisco (USF) School of Education hosts a discussion about the book “We Are Not Dreamers: Undocumented Scholars Theorize Undocumented Life in the United States” edited by Leisy Abrego (UCLA) and Genevieve Negrón-Gonzales (USF). The co-editors as well as Joel Sati, Liliana Ramirez, Lucia Leon & Gabriela Garcia Cruz will join the panel discussion moderated by Professor Monisha Bajaj (USF).
