Alpha Phi was founded in 1872 on the values of sisterhood, scholarship, service, leadership, loyalty, and character development. This was before the word sorority was coined, which is why we are called Alpha Phi International Fraternity. The sisterhood of Alpha Phi is home to 170 collegiate campuses and more than 200,000 members. Alpha Phi women share a commitment to excellence and a strong desire to support one another and their community.
Our chapter, Epsilon Kappa, was founded at West Chester University on April 18th, 1971. We pride ourselves in raising money and awareness for women's cardiac care through our annual "Hoops For Heart" basketball tournament, "Move Your PHI't" heart walk, Red Dress Gala, and many smaller fundraisers. Our philanthropy, The Alpha Phi Foundation, also provides many grants, scholarships, and leadership opportunities for women across the nation. Our chapter is composed of smart, driven, light-hearted women who love, support and inspire one another throughout our lifetime.

The French Club aims to promote enthusiasm among students for the French language and culture and to provide students with a friendly and casual yet structured way to approach the language. As a club within the Department of Languages and Cultures, the club encourages the exploration of other cultures, languages and their subsequent student organizations. Through the activities held by the club each semester, West Chester students have the opportunity to meet native French-speaking students who are studying at WCU. This type of interaction enables greater understanding and appreciation, on both sides, of the other's culture.

In the past, activities have included watching French films, experiencing cuisine from Francophone countries and playing French games. All of this is in addition to the end of the semester bakery trip to La Baguette Magique on Market Street in the West Chester Borough. This bakery trip provides a relaxed, and tasty, celebration of the end of the semester. Occasionally the club offers field trip opportunities to French theatre and museum events. During the fall semester of 2019, the club coordinated a trip to the Philadelphia Museum of the Arts.

The French Club represents a collaboration between students who are interested in French, native French-speaking students and the faculty of the French Department. For students who study the language as a major or minor, the club provides a way to further express their admiration for the language as well as an extra opportunity to practice communication with other students and faculty. However, participation in the club is not contingent with being able to communicate in French. The club welcomes all who are curious about the French culture, history and language and requires no language proficiency.

The West Chester University Irish dance Team is a fun club to meet new people, some with Irish heritage and others without, as we dance, hang out and have fun throughout the school year. The team is open to any WCU student with little to no experience in Irish dancing. Some of us have been dancing since we were little and others started for the first time in college. We practice for events on and off campus, and have one intercollegiate competition in the fall at Villanova University that we participate in. The fraternity was founded by Elder Watson Diggs, Bryon Kenneth Armstrong, John M. Lee, Henry T. Asher, Marcus P. Blakemore, Guy L. Grant, Paul W. Caine, George W. Edmonds, Ezra D. The fraternity seeks to raise the sights of black youths and stimulate them to accomplishments higher than might otherwise be realized or even imagined. The fraternity was constituted without clause that would exclude any man based on creed, color, or national origin.

The Kappa Gamma Chapter was chartered on April 14th, 1980 at West Chester University. The first brother to attend West Chester University was brother Wayne Wallace.
