About Us

Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) is the National Communication Association's official honor society at four-year colleges and universities nationwide. The honor society recognizes outstanding student scholars in Communication. LPH has more than 500 active chapters in 47 states! LPH has been the association's official honor society since 1995, and is a member of the Association of College Honor Societies (ACHS).

Membership in Lambda Pi Eta (LPH) signifies distinguished achievement in the discipline of Communication. As NCA's official honor society, LPH members are encouraged to attend the association's Annual Convention each November, and to participate in the several LPH-sponsored sessions. The NCA Annual Convention offers tremendous opportunities for networking and presentation of original and exceptional student research. Most importantly, Lambda Pi Eta chapters are communities of students and faculty that organize a wide variety of philanthropic, academic, and social programs. What is LPH? LPH is the National Communication Association’s Official Honor Society. Being a member signifies distinguished achievement in the discipline of communication. What we do: Members can attend a wide variety of academic and social programs and events. At each meeting, we will plan engaging, career-building activities for COM and MDC majors. You DO NOT have to be an official member to attend these meetings We encourage underclassmen and anyone who does not have 60 credits to attend the meetings! Requirements (to be INDUCTED, not to come to meetings): Completed 60 semester credit-hours Have a minimum overall cumulative GPA of 3.0 Completed 12 semester credit-hours in COM, MDC, or SPK courses Have a minimum GPA of 3.25 for all COM/MDC/SPK courses Currently be enrolled as a student in good standing as determined by the institution's policies Pay a one-time membership dues of $60 ★ Our induction ceremony for those who meet the requirements is on Saturday, April 25th, 2026. We have monthly meetings that include: Informational meetings about what you can get out of COM/MDC majors/minors Bingo, bouquet making, bake sales, and many other fun activities to get to know the people in your classes better Fundraisers for not only our club but also for charities in the Chester County area Learning about job/internship opportunities from our teachers that we wouldnt get to normally learn about in class There are no downsides to joining LPH. This club is a fun way to meet new people, expand your knowledge of COM/MDC, and, as a member, demonstrate distinguished achievement in the discipline of communication.
