The Chair/Vice-Chair should believe in and be an active advocate and ambassador for the values, mission, and vision of the University and the Ram Fam Advisory Council, demonstrate skills in team dynamics, and in collaboration with the Director of Parent and Family Relations be responsible for:
ÔÇó Developing and ensuring consensus on Council member expectations and Council meeting protocols.
ÔÇó Preparing for meetings by reviewing materials, setting the agenda, and helping to facilitate any pre-or post-meeting work.
ÔÇó Supporting Council recruitment efforts to include application review, interviews, etc.
ÔÇó Co-Presiding with Director of Parent and Family Relations over Council meetings.
ÔÇó Preparing or supervising the preparation of Council reports.
ÔÇó Working with fellow Council members between meetings to fulfill the obligations of the Council.
ÔÇó Keeping informed about the University, its issues, and its connection to the students and the community.
ÔÇó Working in collaborative partnership with Director of Parent and Family Relations.
ÔÇó Serving as a spokesperson for the Council as appropriate.
ÔÇó Agreeing to step down from Chair/Vice Chair position if unable to fulfill these expectations.
