Dear Student Organization Officers and Advisors,
On behalf of the Student Government Association, this communication is to formally communicate the 2024-2025 SGA Budget Request Process. All eligible student organizations have completed an asynchronous training that includes all the information below, but we wanted to ensure that each organization has this information to easily review in preparation to submit their budget proposals. Please read through it carefully!
The budgeting request excel sheet is linked below, along with the link to the RamConnect form in which to upload. Additionally, over the course of the next week, the Office of Student Leadership and Involvement will be sending out last year’s budget requests to all groups that submitted a request. This should help organizations tremendously. Communicate with your members and executive board before winter break to be ready to submit a budget request early next semester.
There are three different deadlines depending on how much an organization is looking to request.

If your organization would like to request $10,000 or more, a budget request is due January 29th and to include:

A recorded presentation video will be required. (uploaded via this link separately, no longer than 5 minutes.

Supplemental written word document uploaded in the Ramconnect form.

If your organization would like to request between $1,000 and $9,999, a budget request is due February 23rd and to include:

If your organization would like to request less than $1,000, a budget request is due April 7th which is also the FINAL DEADLINE and to include
No in-person presentations will be required. While only video presentations are needed for more than $10,000 requests, a written document is requested (to supplement the small boxes in the spreadsheet) for everyone so that the Finance Committee has all the necessary information to make an informed decision. If the finance committee has any questions or needs additional documentation to consider when reviewing your budget request, you will receive an invitation to zoom into a Finance Committee meeting. You will receive a request with two weeks’ notice to attend via zoom.

It is anticipated groups will receive a tentative 2024-2025 budget by May 15, 2024. Final budget numbers will not be available until August of 2024. Please keep in mind that on average, student organizations request over 1.4 million dollars and there is usually only $870,000 to allocate.
