Welcome to the Spring 2024 Semester! My name is Noah Smith, and I serve as the Training Director for WCUR-FM. I'm reaching out to let you know about our upcoming training opportunities for the semester.
I run training at a faster pace in the spring, knocking out a week of the process, and moving a bit quicker through the material. This allows me to run the entire process twice-over in one semester.
Below is an overview week-by-week of the time, location, and topics covered at the training sessions for the first cohort of 2024. These groups will likely be around 15-20 people.
After you complete the 3 Training sesisons and hands-on opportuntites (called Sit-Ins), you complete a quick "On-Air Test" that ensures you know what your doing in the studio (aka, what do the buttons do). You'll then complete the scheduling process, and badda-bing-badda-boom, you're a radio DJ!
If you are still unsure if WCUR is the right fit for you, come to the first session and "test the waters". I take lots of questions, and would be happy to talk you through any concerns you may have. No strings attached.
If all that sounds good to you, there is an RSVP button for the first training session below. I look forward to seeing all that you'll bring to the station!
Best,
Noah Smith | Training Director
