Mission WCUR 91.7 The Curve is an entirely student-run college radio station that proudly broadcasts throughout the West Chester, PA area, as well as online. WCUR began in the 1960s as a closed-circuit AM station that only broadcasted to the dormitories on campus. After many years of hard work (and lots of paperwork), the station was awarded a permit to begin the construction of a new FM station on March 20, 1998 and officially began broadcasting at 91.7 FM on September 1st, 1999.If you are interested in joining the WCUR family, please go to our website at wcur.org/training, and you'll find the most current training information as well as a link to sign up! Membership BenefitsMembers are given at least one hour per week to host a live show under their total creative direction, and are trained on how to operate genuine broadcast equipment, with opportunities to learn other professional equipment such as podcasting, editing software, and PA Speaker systems.
Anyone interested in joining may click the "join" button on our page to begin the training process! You'll hear back from the Training Director with details about next steps as the semester gets closer. All members must be validated before admitted to the group.
