Important Spring Semester Dates
Council of Organizations
All student organizations are required to send an executive board member to each Council of Organizations meeting. An individual student can attend for up to three different student organizations. Please make sure to register ahead of time.
If no one from your organization can attend, you must submit your request to be excused using this RamConnect Form. All excuses must be received 48 hours before the meeting.
SGA Budget 2023-2024 Request Reminders
To be eligible to submit a budget request a student organization must have a representative attend an SGA Budgeting Q&A, have an SSI account number, be in good standing with SLI, and have all officer positions filled.
- If requesting more than $10,000 request due by January 27
- If requesting more up to $9,999.99 request due by February 24
- If requesting up to $1,000. request due by April 7
The excel budget request sheet and submission form are located on the SGA website.
If your organization missed the fall SGA Budgeting Q&A two sessions will be offered in February. Use the links below to sign up. Please help us out in planning by signing up to attend.

Treasurer Training
If you are a new Treasurer or need a refresher on SSI policies and procedures you are encouraged to attend.
Organizations who completed treasurer training the fall semester do not need to attend again.

- March 31st deadline to elect student organization officers for Fall 2023
- Deadline to complete Fall 2023 re-registration is April 21st. Re-registration will open in April.
- Sykes Advance Reservations for 2023-2024 go live on Monday, February 20, at 8:00 am – Friday, February 24, at 4:30pm
Meeting & Event Planning
Remember to submit your room reservations for all meetings and events happening in the spring semester. Make sure your 25Live requests have been submitted. If you already submitted your requests double check you got them approved and for the right rooms. If you need help please reach out. We want you to have safe events on campus and we need your help in planning ahead so that every student organization can be successful.
Complex Events
If your organization is doing any type of large scale event (party, concert, pageant, fashion show, speaker, kickball tournament etc) submit your complex event forms early. When in doubt submit the form. Need a refresher on Complex Events, check out the slides from the September Council of Orgs Meeting or reach out to your SLI Point of Contact.
Contracts
A contract is a legally binding agreement. Many student organizations rent spaces, hire DJ's, photographers, rent photobooths etc. Remember that no student should be signing a contract for a student organization. Donna Snyder in SSI should be reviewing and signing all contracts. This does require more planning ahead. This is to protect you as an individual and your organization. If you have questions, please reach out to your SLI Point of Contact as soon as possible.
Venmo
If your organization is charging admission for an event, selling items etc. Your organization needs to be using the WCU-SSI-Venmo Account and not an individual student account. No student organization should be using an outside bank account or CashApp. Using your organization SSI account financially protects your student organization funds. If you have questions about this please reach out.
Is Your Organization Signed up for Find Your Org Friday

Having a table at the event can not only help find members but can also help you build awareness around your organization. If you need your organization's sign up link or have questions about the event please email involvement@wcupa.edu.

Become a Resident Assistant

Residence Life and Housing is excited to share that the 2023-2024 Resident Assistant Selection process is open! All full-time undergraduate students are invited to apply for this great leadership opportunity via the RAMConnect application. Applications will be open through 11:55 PM on January 29th.

Summer 2023 Undergraduate Research Institute (SURI).

Sykes Advanced Reservations for Academic Year 2023-2024
Advance Reservation is the process that Sykes Union and Student Activities implemented in 2022 to assist student organizations and university departments with reserving space within Sykes Student Union for future events. A form on RamConnect goes live on Monday, February 20, at 8:00 am – Friday, February 24, at 4:30 pm. All student organizations and university departments must complete one form for each event they want to hold. Once the Advance Reservations period has passed, the form closes. Then, Sykes Union and Student Activities staff begin processing all the requests according to the date/time submitted and prioritizing based on the scope and scale of the event.
